Ice And Sand Yachting

Ice, sand and land yachting require, in its basic form, a wheeled chassis beneath a sailing dinghy. Dutch ice yachts date back to 1768, but ice yachting today is mainly found in North America.

Ice Hockey

A game similar to hockey on ice was played in Holland in the early 16th century, but the birth of modern ice hockey took place in Canada, in 1855. There are fifteen players and two goalkeeper in each team, but only five players and one goalkeeper are allowed to be on the ice at a time. The object is to use the hockey stick to hit the puck towards the opposing team's goal and score goals. Each game lasts for three 20 minute periods.

Ice Skating

Ice Skating is split into three types - figure skating, ice dancing and speed skating.
